Don't make these arguments for us, they make them for the investor community. Then they have them circulate among the game press so that they can say in a board meeting that they are experts in the area. Although not really knowing what they are talking about. Notice how most of these guys differ. Many said that by 2008 PS3 would be in the lead, and Nintendo would be last. That there wouldn't be much change this generation compared to last. Only that Sony wouldn't enjoy the same amount of suc...
But when you say that the PS3 has reached 10 million units faster or better than the 360. Be sure to mention the part about Sony slashing the price of the system by $100 to stay in race. Which means they took a hit too look good. Microsoft didn't...can you say cha-ching...Cause they are making profit in the black.
Also just because the PS3 came out about a year and some change ago, does not mean games have not been in development longer. Which if you look at articles before it's ...
This gets the labels fore warned, find new strategies or pay-up. Activision just realized they've created a format for music. Smart, smart...The lables are living off those catalog sales, because they don't have to remaster or get an artist into the studio. But guess what, the labels are going to nickle and dime artists like they already do. What is smart though is this will allow labels to focus on new talent, because they can rape them more with vehicles like this.
Just build it, we will come...lol. Seriously though we have to have faith Epic will deliver. One big, big area people are forgeting is Mr.Tsunda involvement with game on Microsofts' end. His team did exceptional work with the last Fight Night, and he is a damn good designer in his own right. So I'm pretty sure he's offering some incredible insight on what Gears 2 can be made great. Watch how we start to see a blog or diary of some kind. Please don't do it till June...make us salivate!!
Only spin I see is when people talk about the "global sales". First off Japan is a joke for Xbox business, they are biased when it comes to outside competition. There are more than enough titles for them to play. Another thing Europe has a hate/love relationship with Microsoft. So their view of them is a bit skewed. This does not mean that these territories don't matter, but in the case of Microsoft it isn't an easy thing to talk about "global sales". There are significant...
Hype...What companies do without it. Microsoft does it, and so does...Well Sony been doing it. I also don't get how you would delay a trailer. You just put it out when it's done.
With your logic is that you would have to base it on which of the two SKUs sell the most, and has the most users. From all indications the Aracade/core units do not sell much at all for Microsoft. If someone can post the sales, I think you will see that Microsoft can add value to those who already own an Aracade/core unit by lowering the cost of the HDD. That solves the problem, and consumers have always been willing to buy if the price point is right, and add more value. It's actually not a ...
Smart by Microsoft, and it's about damn time. They only did a $50 dollar price drop. Where as like mart said after 6 months on store shelves the PS3 saw a $100 dollar drop. So I don't see how this could be wrong in any way. Also don't be fooled consumers are not flocking to the Arcade/Core unit for the very fact it doesn't come with a HDD. So for a consumer looking to get a premium system the barrier of entry and purchase is that much lower. They can spend the difference on quality software f...
Like they said, this game has been in development for months. I'm locked in on November. That game is going to destroy the holidays, if Halo 2 was any indication, it could also be record breaking. Blockbuster titles should do this. Just offer me more gameplay and more multiplayer options, it will be a worthy sequel.
What I funny is what do PS3 fans deem a great game? If a game is reviewed well, fans love it, and is superior in many areas wouldn't that make it the better version, or title? I'm really curious. Let's say MGS4 comes out and it scores the same as Halo3 and it gets rave reviews. Will that matter? Will they then say they pay attention? I mean the one thing I've learned so far from all these comparisons is that you should wait and see. Many people keep saying the PS3 should be the lead platform ...
I think it was smart of Microsoft to respond, other websites need to also focus on this aspect of the consoles also. That way we can start weeding out the bad sites from the actually informative ones. Sure Gamepro is not the pinnacle of game sites, but the article just screams nonsense on so many levels. For instance the author mentions areas of online characteristics yet's dismisses the same factors on the Xbox 360. Then for him to say Achievments don't count, or rumble is even more crazy. T...
Why does this nonsense get approved? Microsoft has gone on record saying they expect this generation to be longer than the last. If that is a year or two then fine. Besides, people are just starting to get into the next generation. The numbers for all the consoles don't scream mainstream yet. Xbox 360 and Wii are dominant, while the PS3 will finally get its legs this year. So there's alot of room for growth to be honest. Whoever even made this site just wanted some hits, and thanks for giving...
For Take Two is that they are horrible with marketing/promotion/spending. If it isn't GTA then it falls by the way side in many respects. They have a great porfolio of games, but no one knows what Take Two's culture is as game company. EA understands it's brand, and promotes it in every angle. That's why they can be sup-par, but be profitable and relevant. If Take Two is going to reject their bid, then they need to be looking further ahead past GTA4. Figure out how they are going to grow cons...
Is that alot of people went into Halo 3 with a grudge to not like it. The game in both areas SP and Multiplayer, crap all over Halo 2. So that alone makes the game good. On purpose I have yet to go all out on the game and I own it. I want to wait until May/June to get back into the game. I feel like people are ruinining the experience because of their expectations. My initial run with the game was uber...I just don't see where people are dissapointed by it, but I respect thier oppinion...Game...
Don't know, Ironman looks really good by Sega. What they have lost since the Genesis days is a real ability to market, advertise, and promote their games. Did you see how fast Sega Rally 3 came and went? That was a fantastic driving game, and in alot of ways better than PGR4. Sega could have added Sega Rally into their sports porfolio, they just didn't grow the sports area the way they should have. In sports you can make money in so many ways. Sega just put an athelete on the cover, did an an...
Just give more things to do, and have my weapons make some real damage like the first one. It's amazing that Microsoft in one breath can say they have two of the best genre redefining games on their system. Gears 2 is going to be monstrous. They said they have been working on the second one since the first ones, release. So this isn't a rush job. Then in a recent article Tim Sweeny said that everything that is in the engine is what they use in their titles. They are battle testing alot of wha...
Let me get this straight, if the PC version is going to be the defacto best one. Then what is the point of even doing a PS3 version? Especially if you are a PS3 fan. I think that would be a bit redundant, since you will be missing alot of elements from a PC version. This isn't pro Xbox 360, because if the game is good that audience will show up and buy. My thing is that the PS3 is just as much in the same boat when it comes to cross platform gaming now-a-days. Wouldn't that make the argument ...
